HS12 – 2 Day Management of Working at Height Course


Purpose of the course:

This course delivers 14 hours Accredited *CPD classroom instruction and assessment and is designed to provide managers and supervisors with an underpinning knowledge when planning, arranging, controlling or advising on working at height tasks taking into account working at height hazards and risks with possible control measures to mitigate the risks.

On completion of the course delegates should be able to produce or review safety documentation with a level of confidence and knowledge to ensure that a suitable safe system of work is in place before allowing any work at height activity to proceed.

  • The hierarchy of control measures
  • Considerations for a safe systems of Working at Height
  • The requirement for an emergency & rescue plan
  • First aid requirements & harness suspension
  • Typical use of Personal Protective Equipment & Fall Protective Equipment
  • Temporary work platforms
  • Rooftop working & fixed access systems
  • Masts & tower access
  • Rope access
  • Scenario based working at height safety documentation exercise
  • Multiple choice test paper
Course summary:

• Course duration: Two days (9:00am – 5:00pm)
• Maximum instructor/delegate ratio: 1:10
• Delivery: Classroom based theory with assessment
• Assessment: Multiple choice test paper and scenario based assessment
• Certification: CPD Accredited Certificate of Training (valid for 3 years)

Additional Information:

• Delegates must have a good command of the English language
• Delegates do not require any PPE/FPE for the course
• No practical climbing/working at height will take place during this course
