CS04: 1 Day Medium Risk Confined Space Entrant & Entry Controller Refresher Course - On Site

Purpose of the course
This one day course is designed to provide 7 hours of classroom and practical instruction with assessment to remind delegates of the requirements of the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L101 - Safe work in confined spaces (Confined Spaces Regulations 1997) and the principles laid down in the National Occupational Standards for Working in medium risk confined spaces.

On completion of the course, delegates will have been assessed on the requisite underpinning knowledge and skills required to demonstrate continued competence to enter or control entry into medium risk confined spaces where access into the space will require the use of gas monitoring and the carrying of Escape Breathing Apparatus (EBA). It will involve the presence of one or more
people who have designated responsibilities for controlling the entry into the confined space which may involve a vertical entry using a ladder and fall arrest/recovery winch or man-riding winch and harness or horizontal entry, such as walking or climbing into the confined space or working away from the bottom of a vertical entry, with limited use of rescue lines.

Practical
Checks & Use of Harness, Tripod, Winch & Gas Monitor
Checks & Use of Escape Breathing Apparatus (EBA)
Set up Site, Pre-Entry Checks including Reviewing & Signing of RAMs
Allocation and Rotating of Roles within the Team
Pre-Entry Gas Testing & PTW Issue
Vertical and Horizontal Entry & Self-Evacuation Exercise Wearing EBA
Duration and Certification
One day (09:00-17:00)

8 delegates maximum per course

Morsafe Limited E-Certificate (valid for 3 years)
Course requirements and prerequisites
Delegates must have a good command of the English language

Delegates will require confirmation of medical fitness or complete self-certification

Delegates will require footwear and clothing to suit the course and weather conditions 

General PPE will be provided 

Confined spaces equipment will be provided

Practical training on the use of gas monitors, harnesses, tripod, winch and Escape Breathing Apparatus (EBA) will be delivered during this course

Delegates attending this course will be requested to complete a self-certification fitness statement as it is important that delegates are free of any condition that might adversely affect their health or the safety of others whilst carry out the practical element of this course

Practical training sessions require delegates to wear suitable clothing and basic PPE (overalls, boots and foul weather clothing) appropriate to the course, location and weather conditions. Course  specific PPE/FPE/RPE (i.e. harness, tripod, winch, etc) will be provided by Morsafe
