Purpose of the course:

This course delivers 3 hours Accredited *CPD classroom and practical instruction with assessment. It offers delegates training to enable them to gain a good understanding of RF radiation issues for those persons working on or near buildings, structures, masts and towers and suitable controls.

On completion of the course delegates should be able to make correct and informed decisions in respect of personal RF safety and use of RF monitoring.

What will be covered on the course:

  • Relevant legislation
  • Basic understanding of RF energy
  • Non-ionisation radio frequency radiation
  • Effects on the human body
  • Procedures to prevent exposure
  • Procedures to take if exposure is suspected
  • Hazardous areas, access control and signage
  • Instrument operation and scaling
  • Written and practical assessments

Course summary

  • Course duration: Half day (am 09:00-12:00 or pm 13:00 -16:00)
  • Maximum instructor/delegate ratio: 1:10
  • Delivery: Classroom based theory and practical training
  • Assessment: Multiple choice test paper and practical skills assessment
  • Certification: CPD Accredited Certificate of Training (valid for 3 years)

Additional Information:

  • Delegates must have a good command of written and spoken English
  • Delegates do not require any PPE/FPE for the course
  • No practical climbing/working at height will take place during this course
