HS01 – ½ Day Working at Height Awareness Course


Purpose of the course:

This course delivers 3 hours Accredited *CPD classroom instruction and is aimed at operatives, supervisors or managers who require working at height awareness training in order for them to identify what risks may be present and ensuring suitable control measures are in place prior to any work at height being carried out.

On completion of the course, delegates should be able to understand the general requirements for working at height activities, apply the hierarchy of control measures for work at height along with the basic principles of the Work at Height Regulations.

What will be covered on the course:

• The Work at Height and associated regulations
• Considerations for WaH Safe Systems
• The requirement for an emergency and rescue plan
• First Aid requirements and suspension syncope
• Types of and typical use of WaH PPE & FPE
• Overview of portable ladders
• Overview of Mobile Elevating Working Platforms
• Overview of scaffolds and temporary work platforms
• Overview of fixed access systems
• Overview of rooftop working
• Overview of masts and tower access
• Overview of specialist rope access

Course summary:

• Course duration: Half day (am 09:00-12:00 or pm 13:00 -16:00)
• Maximum instructor/delegate ratio: 1:10
• Delivery: Classroom based theory
• Assessment: None (attendance only)
• Certification: Each delegate will receive a Certificate of Training (valid for 3 years)

Additional Information:

• Delegates must have a good command of the English language
• Delegates do not require any PPE/FPE for the course
• No practical climbing/work at height will take place during this course
