CS09: 1 Day Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) User Course - On Site
Purpose of the course
This one day course is designed to provide 7 hours of classroom and practical instruction with assessment to introduce or remind delegates of the requirements of BSEN 529:2005 which recommends the process of regular refresher training which should take place at least annually (Sections 11.1, 11.2 and 11.3).
On completion of the course, delegates are able to understand when the wearing of SCBA is appropriate based on the assessment of risk, how to carry out pre-use checks, don and use the equipment safely in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Course requirements and prerequisites
Delegates must have a good command of the English language
Delegates will require confirmation of medical fitness or complete self-certification statement
Delegates will require footwear and clothing to suit the course and weather conditions
General PPE will be provided
Confined spaces equipment will be provided
Practical training will take place with a horizontal entry and exit into a confined space using an SCBA to confirm the user’s competence with the equipment
Practical training sessions require delegates to wear suitable clothing and basic PPE (overalls, boots and foul weather clothing) appropriate to the course, location and weather conditions. Course specific PPE/FPE/RPE (i.e. harness, SCBA etc) will be provided by Morsafe
